Wild, crazy and unexpected…

This has been one wild and crazy week! First off, Scott is still the hottest guy I know… :::BLUSHING::: I got back to work this week, caught myself up on things that need dealing withfor this week and honestly, I can’t wait to throw myself into it. We had a short week and Thursday night, I hopped a flight to Colorado with Scott and his band for weekend shows. They played Friday night, 4th of July and last night. It was awesome and can I just tell you all how into the whole *back stage* party thing I am really into? It is so much fun and so interesting from a writer’s view. There were crazy girls trying to get back stage— flashing their boobs and throwing their bras and panties at the stage. I really thought that those days of Rock n’ Roll were over but apparently not. I was impressed however, that the band agreed that this “tour” should be a sober tour. Which for them means no drinking on show days. I suppose that times are different now and they should be playing because they really love to entertain, not to get smashed and sleep with every groupie that rolls around.

Scott and I had some time to walk around the town, have lunches and basically just be a couple enjoying ourselves which was nice. We ate at a great little bistro type place which served the best soups and sandwiches I think I ever had. There was this awesome park that we went to by ourselves and then with the rest of the group a couple of times that was so beautiful. I could totally spend hours just wandering around looking at the trees and the wildflowers… Breathtaking, really. Also, a great place to make out. ::BLUSHING:: again… LOL Have I told you about how beautiful his lips are? God, do I love feeling them on mine… Ok, enough with that…

We just got back to LA today, a little earlier this afternoon. Scott dropped me off and headed home to do stuff. I am getting together with Ri, Ian, Pierce and Rob for drinks later down at our favorite pub by the boardwalk. Then tomorrow it is back to the grind for me.

Oh, sorry to keep you all hanging, I know you don’t know how much time has passed but I just got a phone call from back east about a friend of a friend who has a horrible motorcycle accident last night. Unfortunately, there really wasn’t anything for the doctors to do. He passed away early this morning. It is so sad when someone dies so young. He was married with a few children and my thoughts are totally with his family now. I hope everyone takes time to appreciate what you have because you never know when it will be taken away from you.

On that note, I have to go and do somethings. I promise to be more current on things this week!

Fun!

Ooohhh, lots of fun last night with Scott, Ginger and Scott’s friend, Adam. We walked down to the pier, ate some pizza, drank beer and I think we all laughed all night about everything. It was so much fun, I don’t think I have had a total release like that in ages. We all took a walk down by the ocean and Scott tugged at my hand and we snuck off for a little bit. Luckily, Adam was interesting enough and good looking enough for my girl, Gin… LOL Yes, Adam is a hottie and also is some bigwig at the record company that produces Scott’s band’s albums/cd’s.

Anyway, can I tell you again how amazing it is to kiss Scott? Oh, and his hair? It is long, sandy blond and he has amazing blue eyes. I think I love him. He makes me melt and the connection we have is.. well it takes my breath away. I also know that every time I feel this way, my heart gets broken so I am treading very carefully. I almost always dump the safe guy, Kyle, and fall for the one who trashes my heart into a billion pieces. But, I always fear that if I don’t take the chance, the risk for love and happiness, I will never find it. So, in turn, I am going with those wonderful butterflies and feelings and following my heart. I know that part of my heart is gone, has belonged to another but it will never, ever be so, I have to throw myself in to the sea of unknown and truely let my heart lead the way. Maybe I won’t be hurt, maybe things will work. I do know I want them to, for the feelings I have now for Scott are so different than the ones I was developing for Kyle. I really have to talk to Kyle when he gets back from his work trip.

Scott is going with me to take Gin to LAX. She goes home tonight but it seems like she may be really moving out here. She is fed up with Steve and wants something more out of life than being his sometimes girlfriend. So, he will head up the east coast version and Gin will take over as head of our edition out here. (Thankfully!) I will still have more responsibility, my column, my adventure and I am a creative director!!! Rita is going to continue being Ginger’s assistant instead of mine since my duties will be different. I will have another assistant but on a lesser scale.

After we drop off Gin, we are heading to a little club to see a friend of his band play. Rita and Ian are meeting us around 9. So, I am off to shower and to start a new adventure with a fabulous guy… I wonder if I will go on tour? I have always wanted to see the inside of one of those fantastic tour buses!!

Last night I went to Scott’s show.

One word:

SWOON!

I do have a thing for front-men. I have always loved musicians, music and going to clubs. I will have to make an effort to get out and go see live music more often. Scott was amazing and his band was awesome. I have always liked his band and just never got around to seeing them live. But, this time, my first time seeing them… I was guest-listed with passes for Rita, Gin and myself and we got to hang backstage, side stage and we went to the after party. Good times. After the show, at the club we all went to for the after party, Scott pulled me aside and we talked for a good long time….. He kissed me before I left with the girls and let me tell you…. He has to be one of the best kissers I have ever kissed… EVER.

So, I have spent the day swooning and mooning over this guy. There is totally something about him that is completely different from Kyle. That something different is exciting for me and I am so intrigued and interested right now, I just can’t sit still.. Oh, my phone is ringing.. Hold on. EEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! It’s him!!

Oh man!!!! I can’t believe he called as I was typing this. LOL!! He (Scott) is on his way over to hang out and go down to the pier with us. I think a couple of his buddies are coming, too. Rita is out with Ian and Kyle is on some shoot for the weekend for ABC. Anyway. I am gonna go and make myself cute and delicious!!! I haven’t felt this way in YEARS. I am really into this guy and with my experience…. He is probably the wrong guy and will break my heart. Oh, well…. I just want to have fun and I will worry about picking up the pieces later, when that horrendous time comes!

I am Back!!

It was a long, interesting, productive week in Florida. I stayed at a hotel on one of the Keys outside of Sarasota and the people I met were fabulous. First, the Key is called “Longboat Key” and it is absolutely beautiful. The shopping (which I did a little of on Sunday before we left for home.) was awesome, the shops were so cute and most of them were high end but such beautiful, tropical things. The hotel was gorgeous, right on the beach and we had workshops under the palm trees in the mornings and in a conference room in the afternoons when it got just too hot to be outside. I met creative, interesting people and one guy in particular, Scott, who is a lead singer in a popular ’90′s band who wrote all the band’s songs and most of the music. He also wrote for other artists, quite a few top 10 hits are under his belt. Anyway, he wants to get into writing, and not just song writing but writing books. I spent a bit of time with my new, long haired friend. We hung out after our workshops and learned a lot about each other. Scott lives in California, too. He actually lives in L.A. and he has a house in Maryland, where he grew up. So, we had the east coast in common, our love for music (and a surprising number of his songs which have been my favorites for years), and now the west coast and writing.

I didn’t talk to anyone during my week away. I didn’t have my laptop as I had planned to smuggle it in. I left it at home last minute because I really wanted to do what was expected of me during the workshops instead of thinking about work, sneaking on to play with my online friends or even to work on my story. Following the workshop plan was more important and the best part was just being with 100 other writers and just gaining contagious inspiration from them all.

And, for all of you nosey readers, LOL, I am planning to see Scott again. I really like him and would like to get to know him better. I still like Kyle and want to see him, too. I just don’t want to be tied to just one person right now and I just want to gather inspiration from others and to really focus on the launch of the magazine and my writing. I am sure that eventually I will find my love connection but right now there is way too much going on. The thing about Scott is that he is more of a free spirit, like me. He has a tour coming up and will be gone a lot over the summer. He is writing and collaboration with others and I really like that. Anyway, I’ll let you all know when and if something happens….

I have to get another cup of coffee and get dressed. My first day in the office since two weeks ago Thursday. I know I have a lot to catch up on with Ginger… Gin is here until next Sunday when she takes the Red Eye home.

We are going to Scott’s show on Friday night… I can’t wait to see him perform.

Getting ready to Jet!

Dinner last night was fantastic and Michael is so funny! It is great to see Ginger and it is always a blast when she is around. I am so happy she is here and will keep things going while I am away. There is so much to be done and my conference is really at the wrong time but when I signed up for it, I didn’t have all this going on, just my adventure. I am just about packed and almost ready to go. It will be a nice week because I will have lots of time to relax while I am there. Who knows who will be there at this thing… So many walks of life are writers, you know. People who have been writing a while, people just getting into it, housewives, people with full time jobs, actors, corporate people, people who write but want to enhance their writing knowledge… I can’t wait to meet them and get to know some of them.

So, today I will be running around a bit and I have dinner with Kyle so, this will be it for me until I get back. I am going to have a ton to write about for sure. If I do get a chance and if there is a computer available somewhere, I will log on and write but if I don’t, it will be a week from Tuesday or Wednesday before I will have time to write again.

Have a great week, make your lives as fantastic as you can. Opportunity, new beginnings and happiness are right around the corner, just take the time to see them and take hold of your life. It really is up to you to want to make the change.

I am so upset…

The concert I was flying to Jersey to see in August has been cancelled due to the headlining act’s lead singer. Apparently last night during rehearsal, he hemorrhaged his vocal cord and cannot sing. I was going for not the headliner but for the second band. I love them, haven’t seen them in YEARS, was going with CJ for a GNO and it was gonna be awesome. Maybe they will reschedule, maybe re-work the line up and make my band the headliner. I think that there would still be enough of a draw for my band if they got pushed harder with some advertising. Anyway, who cares what I think about that, it isn’t anywhere near my hands so… I am off to cry in a corner. I’ll post again tomorrow, before my trip. I promise.

Things and more things to do!

Getting ready for my trip and for Ginger to get here. Gin flies in tomorrow afternoon, Rita is getting her from the airport because I have a lunch meeting that will still be going on when she lands at 1:05. Then she comes to the office and I fill her in on what’s what. Then we are heading out to Goa to hang out a little with Michael Sutton. Rita, Pierce and Rob will be joining us for dinner and drinks. Then on Saturday, I pack and make sure I have what I need for my trip. I think I am having dinner with Kyle, an early one, then back home for early bedtime.

I found myself thinking about things today… Things from my past, boats I missed but boats I also made and the path those boats lead me to. I have found myself in a good spot. Way back when, I probably would not have chosen this as my life but what I have found is that it is ok to be me, it is ok the spot I am and to find bits and pieces of myself everyday. I guess from changing my life as drastically as I have in the last few months would give anyone whiplash. Maybe my whiplash is still yet to come or maybe my homesickness from a month or so ago was it. All I know is that I have made some changes and they are for the better. I still miss home, I miss some of the people I left behind but I am here, I am in my future. It is a future that is sparkly and wonderful… There are endless possibilities and opportunities just around the bend.

I will be back to post once more before my trip, I hope I will have something fun to write…. How can there not be something fun to write about when I am seeing Michael Sutton and my Kyle all in one weekend? All girls should be as lucky as me.

Working Blues

It’s early. The sun hasn’t come up yet. Soon it will be and my day will transform from tranquil to crazy. Some days and this is a secret between you and me, I almost regret taking on all this responsibility. Almost, because I do love what I do but I really enjoyed my initial reason for being here.. My adventure. No strings attached, no early mornings unless that is what I wanted to do. Now, I have an office and staff. I have a magazine that is to come out in August. I am very proud of what I do and what I have accomplished but I am feeling a little lost again. Maybe tons of people out there feel the same way and never change the course of their lives. Maybe the were like me and did change the course of their lives but the initial course came back, even under different circumstances. Do I make any sense? I don’t know.

I am looking forward to next week in Florida. I hit a roadblock in my book and need a new perspective and I hope I will gain it there. I love my story, love the direction, I am just stuck on a scene and for some reason what to write just isn’t coming out for me. So this was a waste of a weekend in my book. I haven’t written a word since Friday.

Oh, I had a phone call over the weekend from Michael Sutton. I didn’t get to talk to him (because I was out at a club in Hermosa Beach on Saturday) and he left me a message so today I will call him back and see what is going on and catch up a little bit. On Saturday, I saw a band play at this little club. Rita, Pierce and Rob went with us. Ian and Kyle were supposed to meet us but they were caught up helping some friends move and couldn’t make it after all.

Ok, I need to get into the shower and really get started on my day. Have a fantastic one and if anything interesting happens, I will let you know!

It has been a while. I apologize! Things have been crazy with the trip, office and trying to get some new work done.

First, my trip!

It was fantastic. The weather was awesome, nice and hot… Lot’s of great food and yummy beer. Kyle and Ian surfed a bit while Ri and I caught some Mexican rays on the beach. Don’t worry we used plenty of sunscreen!! Two of the nights we went into the cute town and had drinks and danced. We took walks on the beach in the mornings when it wasn’t quite so hot and it was really great to get away and not worry about things for a few days.

The office… The office has been crazy! Trying to line up advertisers and more collunmnists, has had the phone ringing off the hook. Our layout director got sick last week so we have had daily meetings with our guy Rick in NY. Ginger will be coming back out next week because I am being sent down to Florida for a conference for writers. I will be gone for another week without computer access. We were told to leave our laptops at home and come with journals or notebooks so we can get in touch with the true meaning of writing from the heart, not typing it in on a computer where it really isn’t as personal.

I am attempting to write a book, hence, the conference. I started it a couple of months ago and it is really coming along. Maybe when I get close to the end, I’ll post an excerpt here on my site. We’ll see.

Rita and Ian seem to have really clicked. She is so happy and that is what I totally have wanted for her. Now me on the other hand… I really like Kyle. I want to give this a chance but I am so damn busy. I just can’t sit still and it really hurts the time I can give to someone else. It is hard when two people have high demand careers and are always on the go. So, I am stuck. We’ll see what happens and if he likes me enough to stick with me and ride this wave all the way through.

Poor Rob, remember Pierce and Rob?, anyway, he works on the Ghost Whisperer set and that is located on the Universal lot that went up in flames. Shame. So, they are scrambling to create a new set so they can start shooting soon. But, Pierce and Rob are fine and I went out with them last night. I drank while they shot darts. Good times. LOL

Ok, it is super early here and I am on my way out to meet Kyle for breakfast. I hope we have a good weekend with no pressure. I have too much pressure in my life that I don’t need… Well, you can get my drift and if you can’t….

Sneaking on….

We are in Mexico!!! We are staying a a very nice hotel on the beach in Rosarito. It is beautiful and very relaxing. Lots of time is being spent at the beach or pool. We have been eating and drinking and just having a great time. Ri and I have our own room and the guys have theirs. This is a very awesome weekend getaway. Today we will be going downtown to see the shops and stay for dinner… I love it! A big plus and bonus for me is that my favorite beer is all over the place down here and for cheap, too! Did you know that street signs are sponsored by the beer companies?
